PODCAST: Registration now open for Etiquette Dinner

Good Morning Goodman podcast hosts Susan LeBlanc and Lauren Smith talk about what’s happening at the Goodman School of Business this week.

Registration opens Monday, Oct. 3 at 10 a.m. for the annual Etiquette Dinner hosted by the Goodman Career Development Office, set to take place Oct. 25. The popular event sells out quickly each year and offers business students an opportunity to learn from a professional dining etiquette coach as dining with employers in a professional setting is becoming an important part of job selection and professional development.

Undergraduate Goodman students are encouraged to apply for the Goodman Business Students’ Association’s (BSA) Competitor Development Program by Oct. 16. This 3-week training program is designed to prepare students who plan to represent the Goodman School of Business at a case competition this year.

All Goodman undergraduate students are eligible to receive 50 personalized business cards at no charge from the Goodman BSA. Students interested in receiving theirs should sign up on the Goodman BSA website.

The Goodman Graduate Business Council (GBC), the representative student body for Goodman graduate students, is offering SAS training for graduate business students that will take place during Reading Week. Interested students can register during GBC office hours.

Students taking first year accounting or information technology and information systems courses can take advantage of free tutoring services offered by the Goodman Accounting Students’ Association (ASA) every Monday and Thursday from 6:30-8 p.m. in the library.

And finally, this Thursday, Oct. 6, is the How to Get a Job in Finance event hosted by the Goodman Career Development Office in partnership with the Brock Finance and Investment Group. Part of the annual “How to Get a Job” series, this event will feature a panel of industry professionals who will offer insight into getting a job in the field of finance. Students can register on CareerZone.

Produced by the Goodman Marketing, Communications and Alumni Relations team, this is the latest in the Good Morning Goodman series which updates the Goodman School of Business community weekly on important news and events.
