Health and Safety Awareness Training (HSAT) Reminder

With the commencement of the academic year, Health, Safety & Wellness (HSW) reminds supervisors and employees of the mandatory HSAT requirement.

The Occupational Health and Safety Awareness and Training Regulation 297/13 was originally announced by the Ministry of Labour (MOL) on Nov. 15, 2013. Training became compulsory for both supervisors and employees effective July 1, 2014.

The HSAT developed by HSW meets the training requirements set out by the MOL for both supervisors and employees and is available from Sakai.

If you are a new supervisor or worker to Brock, please ensure that the HSAT is completed as soon as possible.

As a supervisor, you are responsible to ensure that all employees within your respective department have completed the HSAT module. In mid-October, Human Resources will release reports to departments to identify employees who have yet to complete the HSAT module.

For more information, please review the HSW Bulletin, contact the HSW office via besafe@brocku.ca or call extension 7233.
