Brock seeking candidates for Dean, Goodman School of Business

Brock University seeks nominations and applications for the position of Dean of the Goodman School of Business.

The appointment, for an initial five-year term, will commence on July 1, 2017.

The Dean’s Office provides academic and administrative oversight of the Goodman School of Business, in promoting its undergraduate and graduate programs domestically and internationally.

The successful candidate will ensure sustainable growth and competitiveness of the programs within the Goodman School of Business and enhance partnerships inside and outside the University. Providing transformational and visionary leadership, the Dean charts the future direction, developing a clear, distinct and achievable long-term plan.

Reporting to the Provost and Vice President-Academic, the Dean, Goodman School of Business, will work with the Brock University community to enrich student experience, build upon programming that offers advanced learning, research and scholarship opportunities, and actively support the professional development of faculty and staff. Possessing superb collaborative, communication and leadership skills to implement and champion Goodman’s vision will be key to the success of this role.

The successful candidate shall be at the rank of, or eligible for appointment to, Full professor, and have:

• A proven record of excellence in administrative leadership and faculty engagement

• A track record of teaching and research excellence

• A strong strategic sense coupled with a creative approach to identifying and addressing future challenges

• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to operate in a diverse and dynamic environment within Goodman, and externally with its community partners

• Superb collaborative skills that serve to maintain and enhance an atmosphere of inclusivity

• Supervisory experience of graduate students

• Proven experience in supporting and developing community engagement
