Ernest Biktimirov, professor of finance and associate dean of research and graduate programs at Brock University’s Goodman School of Business, had a unique opportunity to serve as guest editor for a recently published special issue of the Managerial Finance journal.
The issue consists of five carefully selected papers, each with a different focus but united under the theme of equity indexing.
Published earlier this month, the issue coincides neatly with the 120th anniversary of the launch of the first stock market index, the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
The journal publishes several special issues each year and chooses academics with substantial expertise in the chosen topic to serve as guest editors.
“It was a great honour and rewarding experience for me to edit this special issue on equity indexing,” says Biktimirov.
Biktimirov holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and has taught finance at the Goodman School of Business for 17 years.
