Brock is ready to run Rankin

Students, staff and faculty are invited to participate with Brock’s team in the 11th annual Rankin Cancer Run on Saturday, May 28.

Participants have the option of walking or running the one or five-kilometre route along the Welland Canal. Donations are also being accepted in the Student Life Involvement Commons (MC A204).

In celebration of their 10th anniversary in 2015, the Rankin Cancer Run saw 300 teams and nearly 13,000 participants come out to the event, raising $900,000 to support cancer care in Niagara.

Brock has a long-standing connection to the event, participating with a team since the run came to Niagara in 2006. Brock alum Mary Ann Edwards (BPhEd ‘76, BEd ’77), sits as the Director of Rankin Run and Board Director of Brock’s Alumni Association.

The run kicks off at 10 a.m. at the Grantham Lions Club in St. Catharines. Registration is $10 for students and $20 for other participants. A free t-shirt and complimentary BBQ lunch is included in the registration fee. To join the Brock team, visit www.rankincancerrun.com and click ‘Register as a team member’ with Brock University.
