Labour Studies Professor releases report on gender wage gap in retail

Associate Professor Dr. Kendra Coulter of the Centre for Labour Studies released a report on April 18, the day before Gender Wage Gap Day in Ontario, that determined men are being paid more than women in every occupational category within Ontario’s retail sector. Her research received widespread attention this week from the Toronto Star, CBC, The Hamilton Spectator, St. Catharines Standard, CHCH News, 680 News Toronto, 570 News Kitchener, Niagara Falls Review, Metro News and Yahoo! Canada.

Dr. Coulter’s televised interview with CBC The Exchange was viewed nearly 15,000 times on their Facebook page as of April 22.

Brock University Twitter account ‘Best in Canada’

For the second straight year, Brock has been recognized as having the best Twitter account among all Canadian colleges and universities. Ceremony sends hope and love to First Nations communities in crisis

The Indigenous Solidarity Coalition at Brock University gathered for a tobacco ceremony and prayer vigil in front of the Schmon Tower on April 21. The ceremony was in response to the suicide epidemics facing the northern First Nations communities of Attawapiskat, Ont. And Cross Lake, Man. The event was attended by several local media outlets including St. Catharines Standard, CHCH News, and 610 CKTB.
