PODCAST: Sleeping outside for homelessness awareness on Good Morning Goodman

Good Morning Goodman continues with co-hosts Susan LeBlanc and Najlaa Rauf announcing this week’s 5 Days for the Homeless campaign which sees Brock students spending five days and nights outside to help raise awareness of homelessness and to support Community Care of St. Catharines and Thorold.

The campaign, organized by the Goodman Business Students’ Association, is accepting cash and non-perishable food donations on campus from March 7-11 and online donations at 5days.ca/brock through the month of March.

Business student Heather Bernie is participating in the campaign for the second year in a row and is documenting her experience on the GoodmanSpirit Instagram account this week through an Instagram Takeover. Participating students give up the use of social media throughout the week, with the exception of helping to promote 5 Days for the Homeless.

LeBlanc and Rauf also announce that tickets for Innovation Matters, a panel discussion on innovation and entrepreneurship, are now being sold online through the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre Box Office. The panel, which features Jim Treliving, one of five judges on CBC’s Dragons’ Den and Chairman and Owner of Boston Pizza International Inc., Bruce Croxon, co-host of BNN’s The Disruptors and CEO of Round 13, Deborah Rosati, corporate director and co-founder of Women Get On Board, and Jason Sparaga, co-founder and co-CEO of Spark Power Corp. and founder of Spara Capital Partners.

The event precedes Monster Pitch, an entrepreneurial pitch competition for Brock students organized by the Brock Innovation Group. Ticket sale details will be updated on the Brock Innovation Group Facebook page.
