Brock University’s new artificial turf field will officially open during this weekend’s homecoming celebrations.

The grand opening event will take place at noon Saturday, September 19 on the new field located to the west of the Walker Complex (near the outdoor tennis courts).

The turf field project included the installation of the field, along with a full lighting system, by The Davan Group, a Puslinch, Ontario-based company. The $1.5 million project was primarily funded through the Brock University Students’ Union, as well as a generous donation from an anonymous Brock alumnus along with contributions from other alumni and friends of the University.

After the ceremony, which will include revealing the field’s name, the men’s and women’s lacrosse teams will each play home games starting at 1 p.m. Complimentary parking is available throughout homecoming weekend in Zone 1.
