Equity, Engagement, Teaching and Learning conference Oct. 3

Building culturally responsive spaces is an essential but often challenging goal. This half-day Equity, Engagement, Teaching and Learning conference Oct. 3 will provide opportunities for practitioners, academics, students, leading researchers and community advocates to engage with Aboriginal knowledges and experiences with the goal of providing culturally responsive strategies that foster equity and engagement in education.

This year’s presenters are: Janet Wilson, author of Shannen and the Dream for a School (honoured with the First Nation Communities Read award, nominated for the Silver Birch Award, and is soon to be a CBC TV movie) and Terrylynn Brant, author of Teacher Education: Culturally Relevant Aboriginal Education

The conference begins at 8 a.m. with registration and breakfast and will conclude by 12:30 p.m. For more information, visit the website.
