TESL Niagara conference comes to Brock Friday

Brock University ESL Services is hosting the TESL Niagara conference, Future Trends in English for academic purposes, on Friday, April 5.

This is the first time the annual conference is being held at Brock in an effort to highlight issues related to English for academic purposes (EAP) for both students and staff.

The conference features presenters from Brock University who will discuss academic honesty, mobile assisted language learning, accent modification and classroom management related to EAP.

Plenary speaker Julia Williams will discuss textbook trends in EAP at 12:30 p.m. Williams recently authored an EAP textbook series and will be showing advance copies of her latest text.

The conference is open to DALS and ESL staff and runs from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the International Centre.
TESL Niagara is a non-profit organization advancing teaching practices in English as a second language by sharing information, networking, and celebrating the work of local educators.
