The accolades for Brock’s Guernsey Market keep piling up like the lettuce in a shaker salad.

The University and its unique cafeteria won gold at the recent National Association of College and University Food Services Loyal E. Horton Dining Awards. The award was in the retail sales, multiple concept/marketplace category for medium schools.

This is the third year in a row that Brock’s dining services wowed judges in the competition, which celebrates exemplary menus, presentations, special event planning and new dining concepts.

The awards were handed out last month in Boston. Brock was the only Canadian university to win an award, beating out the University of San Diego, Saint Lawrence University and the University of Dayton in its category.

Judges awarded the Guernsey Market and average score of 46.2 out of 50, considering facility design and merchandising, marketing, nutrition and wellness, and menus and meals in their decision.
