Charles Burton and the Dalai Lama at the World Parliamentarians' Convention on Tibet in Ottawa on April 28

Charles Burton, associate professor of Political Science at Brock, recently spoke at the sixth World Parliamentarians’ Convention on Tibet in Ottawa last week.

He delivered a talk, entitled “The People’s Republic of China’s Approach to Development and Environmental Stewardship in Tibet.”

At the event, Burton was invited to an audience with the Dalai Lama and also attended a lunch meeting with the spiritual leader.

The event featured 50 parliamentarians from 30 countries, 60 Tibetans, and all-together more than 100 delegates.
