Charles Burton, associate professor of Political Science at Brock, recently spoke at the sixth World Parliamentarians’ Convention on Tibet in Ottawa last week.
He delivered a talk, entitled “The People’s Republic of China’s Approach to Development and Environmental Stewardship in Tibet.”
At the event, Burton was invited to an audience with the Dalai Lama and also attended a lunch meeting with the spiritual leader.
The event featured 50 parliamentarians from 30 countries, 60 Tibetans, and all-together more than 100 delegates.
