Three questions with… Francine McCarthy

Francine McCarthy

Francine McCarthy is a professor and chair of the Department of Earth Sciences. She lives in St. Catharines with her husband Mike, a chemist. She is a micropaleontologist who has been at Brock since 1991.

What do you like about your job?
The diversity. Every day is different so it’s never boring. This is good for my short attention span.

What do you do for fun?
I like to cook and travel. I cook various types of ethnic foods using different spices and techniques.

Where did you go on your last vacation?
I went to southwest England. The geology of that area is very interesting.
