International Services changes its name

The Office of International Services is now known as International Services and Programs Abroad.

Twenty-five years after its inception, the office has changed its name to more accurately reflect what it does.

While the Office of International Services began with a mandate to assist international students, it evolved to include Canadian students through the development of Brock’s exchange programs. The office still provides services to international students, but it also administers:

  • short-term student exchange programs on six continents
  • experiential learning programs in Ghana, Namibia and Botswana
  • the International Plus program (in collaboration with Career Services)
  • a new Global Transitions Program, which will see incoming Canadian high school grads spend their first academic term in Ghana or Nicaragua taking part in experiential learning programs

The office is prepared to help the university community develop programs abroad and to provide assistance with risk management. International Services and Programs Abroad looks forward to continuing to assist Brock in meeting its commitment to global engagement.
