As part of the department’s ongoing Health Science Seminar series, Theos Tsakiridis, professor in the Department of Oncology at McMaster University and adjunct professor of Community Health Sciences at Brock, will speak about new radiotherapy techniques for prostate cancer.

His talk, “Radiosurgery and Stereotactic Radiotherapy – new treatment options for the management of prostate cancer,” takes place Thursday, Nov. 17, from 12 noon to 1 p.m. in Thistle 325.

“We will be discussing techniques that involve new advanced technology that recently became available at the Juravinski Cancer Centre, such as the new Cyberknife unit,” Tsakiridis said. “These technologies are helping to establish new treatment paradigms, of greater efficiency and convenience for the patients.”

This event is free and open to everyone. Students who attend will be awarded credit through Career Services’ Experience Plus program.
