Political Science instructor Jason Sykes was quoted in the Niagara Falls Review article “Mudslinging starts to flow early in the campaign” on Sept. 8. He was also quoted in the Huffington Post article “Dalton McGuinty’s Bid For Third Term May Be Sunk By Ontario Voters’ Simple Desire For Change” on Sept. 8, and in the St. Catharines Standard article “NDP stands by embattled candidate” on Sept. 21.

Scott Henderson, associate professor in Communication, Popular Culture and Film, was quoted in the article “After 9/11: This feels like the Age of Angry” in the Niagara Falls Review on Sept. 9.

Antonia Mantonakis, a researcher in the Cool Climate Oenology and Viticulture Institute, was quoted in the article “Go for cheaper wines: wine snobbery no longer palatable says study” in the Vancouver Sun on Sept. 12.

Brian Metcalfe, associate professor of Marketing, International Business and Strategy, was quoted in the Wall Street Journal article “Prudential Financial plans China joint venture” on Sept. 16.

PhD candidate Paul Adachi appeared in various media outlets for his research into video games and aggression, including USA Today.

The Niagara Community Observatory brief about municipal governance models was the focus of a Niagara This Week article entitled “Pitfalls in governance models” on Sept. 16.

Larry Savage, associate professor of Labour Studies and Political Science, was quoted in the Toronto Star article “Labour turbulence on the rise” on Sept. 20. He was also quoted in the CBC News article “Wedge politics haven’t helped PCs, experts say” on Sept. 17. The article also appeared in the Hamilton Spectator.

Christopher Fullerton, associate professor of Geography, was quoted in the St. Catharines Standard article “Road or rail? Niagara faces question at the polls” on Sept. 20.

Debbie Slade, Centre for the Arts director, was quoted in the St. Catharines Standard article “Arts centre designs unveiled” on Sept. 21.

Charles Conteh, assistant professor of Political Science, was quoted in the Globe and Mail article “Why Northern Ontario is important for both the leaders and the economy” on Sept. 22.

Sociology professor Andrea Doucet was quoted in the article “Say it with me: I earn more than my husband” in the Globe and Mail on Sept. 23.

Michael J. Armstrong, associate professor in the Faculty of Business, published an opinion piece titled “Government rules are keeping students from innovative online products” on the Globe and Mail website on Sept. 26.  His article discussed the Ontario government policy that limits the ways university courses can use commercial online learning tools.

The Financial Post did an article on the Great Canadian Appathon at Brock on Oct. 2. The blog entry is called “Brock students running on cold pizza and adrenaline as clock ticks down”. It was preceded by the blog entry Brock students aim for dream jobs building video games”.
