The Niagara Community Observatory will release a report on representation on municipal councils this week.
The observatory will present its latest policy brief, “Representation on Municipal Councils in Ontario” on Thursday, Sept. 15 from 8 to 9 a.m. in the Newman Room, at the Four Points Sheraton, Schmon Parkway, Thorold.
The brief explores how regional councillors and regional chairs are selected in a number of jurisdictions in Ontario, as compared to Niagara. It also discusses the advantages and disadvantages of the various methods.
The brief will be presented by David Siegel of the Niagara Community Observatory. It will be followed by a short question and answer period.
