Brock, OSSTF reach tentative deal for support staff

Brock University and OSSTF District 35 today reached a tentative agreement on a renewal contract for about 240 office, clerical, administrative and library support staff at Brock.

Details of the agreement will not be made public until it has been ratified by OSSTF members and by the University’s Board of Trustees.

University President Jack Lightstone welcomed the news and praised the work of negotiators to reach a settlement.

“We are pleased that we were able to reach common ground with a group of employees who form such an important part of our University’s operations,” said Brock President Jack Lightstone.

The tentative agreement with OSSTF would complete a series of renewal collective agreements negotiated between the University and unions representing Brock employees. Earlier agreements were reached with CUPE 1295 (maintenance and trades staff); CUPE2220 (Rodman Hall); CUPE 4207-1 (TAs, part-time instructors, course co-ordinators, lab demonstrators and marker-graders) and CUPE 4207-2 (ESL co-ordinators).
