Brock grad, Andrew Tinnish (BRLS ’99, BSM ’01), director of scouting for the Blue Jays, returned to campus on Jan. 19 with Blue Jays general manager, Alex Anthopoulos to speak to Brock Sports Management students. In an article in the St. Catharines Standard, “Tinnish remembers Brock roots”, Tinnish credits his positive experiences in the classroom and on the field to helping him achieve his position today.

Andrew Tinnish’s return to Brock University Wednesday brought back a flood of memories.

“I remember sitting in a sports management class my final year and the prof going around the room asking what you want to be. I had given it some thought and I told him I wanted to be a baseball scout. I never thought I would be in this position at this age,” the Toronto Blue Jays director of amateur scouting said. “Certainly Alex (Anthopolous) is a GM and a young GM, but these jobs are hard to come by. I want to take advantage of it, work hard and do the best I can for this organization,”
