Brock came out on top this month at Canada’s premiere undergraduate business case competition.

Brock business students took first and third place at the 33rd Inter-Collegiate Business Competition in Kingston, Ont. The competition included about 180 submissions from 41 business schools from Canada, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Darryl Moyers and Tyler Stark took first place in the Management Information Services event. Charlene Viscek and Nicole Hagel finished third in the Human Resources Event.

Competitors analyzed and presented a business case offering a solution to a posed problem. For the students, it was evidence that what they learned at Brock has real world applications, Stark said.

It was also evidence that a Brock business education ranks among the top in the country, Viscek said.

“It shows that even though Brock is still small, we can do great things.”

The Faculty of Business also sent a 24-member team to the MBA Games in Toronto recently. The Business Simulation team of Danielle Herrnstein, Daniel Gruda and Najlaa Rauff placed first in its event.

“This win represents the first time Brock has won an event at the MBA Games and served as a fabulous conclusion to a very rewarding weekend for all team participants,” said Shari Sekel, director of graduate programs for the Faculty of Business.
