Two familiar faces in Human Resources and Environment, Health and Safety (HR/EHS) will be gone after this week when Karen Wright and Janice Boudreau retire.
Wright, an HR/EHS officer, is retiring from Brock after nearly 13 years. Her last day is Wednesday, Dec. 22. Boudreau, an HR/EHS assistant, retires after five years at Brock. Her last day is Thursday, Dec. 23.
Wright worked in human resources at York and McMaster universities before coming to Brock, where she started in Development and Donor Relations. She moved to the HR/EHS officer position in 2000. An avid traveler, she plans to travel, golf and curl with her new-found spare time. She will visit Arizona in February.
Boudreau will spend more time in her second home in Campbellford, Ont., dividing her time between there and Niagara Falls. She plans to do more boating and gardening.
Both say they will miss the people.
“Obviously, I’ll miss the relationships,” Wright said. “I enjoy seeing people succeed.”
Boudreau said she is only now realizing how much she’ll miss everyone.
“It’s going to be very emotional for me,” she said.
