After nearly three decades as manager of Printing Services, Ray Birmingham is shifting his attention to another one of his loves — classic cars.

Birmingham is retiring after 27 years at Brock. The Fonthill resident was hired in 1983 after responding to an ad in the St. Catharines Standard.

Birmingham looks forward to spending more time on his hobby, which is restoring classic cars. He has a 1964 Chevelle SS and a 1963 Corvette, as well as a 1981 Mercedes SL convertible that he drives in the summer. He will also spend more time with his family, including wife Nancy, who owns Butterflies Boutique in Fonthill, and his two children and two granddaughters.

Birmingham, whose last day is Dec. 3, said he will miss the people at Brock. He will see many of those people on Monday, Nov. 29, when well wishers are invited to stop by Printing Services from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cake and coffee will be served and everyone is welcome.
