In the Soil accepting applications

An annual homegrown arts festival is accepting applications from local artists.

In the Soil, a five-day multi-disciplinary festival, is inviting applications from artists of all levels of experience with a close connection to Niagara. This year, In the Soil will feature more than 75 music, theatre, dance, film and media works.

Additions to the third annual festival include an outdoor Rock n’ Roll Brunch, a “streetscape” category aimed at bringing new life to the downtown streets and a closing event, Cabaret in the Soil.

The application deadline is Nov. 26. A jury of local professionals will select the entries. The top three opening spots, dubbed “Top Soil” acts, will be displayed at Brock’s Centre for the Arts. Applications are available at inthesoil.on.ca

Last year, more than 250 artists and 2,500 festival patrons celebrated the arts at In the Soil.
