The Brock University Students’ Union (BUSU) is holding its third annual Community Free Food Barbecues this week.

The barbecues will be Wednesday, Sept. 15 at South Confederation Park in Thorold from 5 to 8 p.m. and Monday, Sept. 20 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Church of the Transfiguration, 320 Glenridge Ave., St. Catharines.

The barbecues started in 2008 as a way to connect students with their neighbours to improve community relations. More than 1,300 students and community members were served over three days.

The 2010 event is supported by Sobeys on Glendale Avenue, which is donating more than 1,000 burgers, hot dogs and veggie burgers to the event.
