Vacation photos could bring prizes in first Brock News photo contest

Canada Day festivities - Market Square downtown St. Catharines

This photo, one of the submissions to the summer vacation photo contest, was taken during Canada Day festivities at Market Square in downtown St. Catharines.

There is less than a month left to submit photos for The Brock News “What I Did On My Summer Vacation” Photo Contest.

Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to enter their photography celebrating summer. The photos do not have to be from foreign places. The only criteria is that they be taken in a place you visited for fun sometime between June 1 and Sept. 15.

The first prize is a $100 gift card from the Campus Store. Second prize is a $50 gift card for the new Niagara Market. The photos will be judged by Julie Jocsak, an award-winning photojournalist at the St. Catharines Standard. The inclusion of Brock memorabilia in the photo is encouraged but not mandatory.

To enter, submit three to 10 photos of at least 600 pixels wide to campusnews@brocku.ca with information on the location and circumstances surrounding the photographs. Photos may be featured in a future update of The Brock News.

The final deadline is Sept. 15.
