Media Talk: Your grades will drop

Felice Martinello, professor of Economics, was quoted in the Maclean’s article “Your grades will drop” on July 8. He discusses a study he recently co-authored on the changes in grades between high school and first-year university. The article also states that in 2008, a Maclean’s survey found that only 10 per cent of York University students — 60 per cent of whom received entrance scholarships — maintained their grades enough to keep their funding.
