Interview skills, problem solving tackled in new Youth University series

Youth University has launched a Lunch and Learn series on topics related to teaching and developing youth skills.

The series consists of four interactive sessions per term, each led by Youth University staff and senior Brock students. The first, held Jan. 14, was led by two students who presented problem-solving and team-building activities for camp and the classroom.

“With increasing talk about the importance of learning outside the classroom as an important complement of higher education, we are committed to acting as a ‘living laboratory’ for Brock students,” Youth University director Kate Cassidy said. “We help them experiment with, and integrate, the knowledge and skills they have obtained in class through a variety of opportunities that further their education and engagement year round.”

The next Lunch and Learn session will be Feb. 16 at 11:30 a.m. in the Sankey Chamber. Sonya Forsey, Youth University summer enrichment manager, will present tips on interview skills for working with youth. Everyone is welcome.
