Dirk De Clercq, associate professor of Management, is quoted in a recent Biz magazine article, “Maternal instincts,” about the increase in “mompreneurs” – moms who run businesses from home.
An excerpt:
Women are spurning the corporate fast track and looking to care for their kids while seeking the self-worth that comes with running their own businesses, says the professor of entrepreneurship at Brock University.
“If you’re highly driven you might feel a ceiling in your corporate job that will lead to frustration and anxiety, so you might decide to choose a more flexible option,” says De Clercq, adding that it’s important for at-home workers to find supports that assist with time management.
