NOTE: All dates refer to undergraduate studies unless otherwise specified.

SPRING 2003

Monday, May 5

First day of classes for duration 1 and duration 2 courses. Please consult the Spring and Summer Registration Guide for further details.

Monday, May 12

Last day for duration 1 and duration 2 late registration and course changes without permission of the instructor. BIRT closes for duration 1 and duration 2 adds; last day to drop courses without financial penalty. After this date, manual course change requests are required.

Monday, May 19

Victoria Day. University closed; library open. Classes will be held.

Friday, May 30

Last day for withdrawal without academic penalty and last day to change from credit to audit status for duration 2 courses.

Friday, June 6

Last day of lectures for duration 2 courses.

Friday, June 6 and Saturday, June 7

Progress examinations for duration 1 courses and final examinations for duration 2 courses.

Monday, June 9

First day of classes for duration 3 courses.

Monday, June 9 to Thursday, June 12

Spring Convocation.

Monday, June 16

SUMMER 2003

FALL 2003

Labour day. University closed; library closed.

Tuesday, September 2

First day of Fall/Winter Session, duration 1 and duration 2 (Pre- Service Education Program).

Thursday, September 4

First day of Fall/Winter Session, duration 1 and duration 2, day and evening sections (undergraduate program).

Friday, September 19

Last day for duration 1 and duration 2 late registration and course changes without permission of the instructor. BIRT closes for duration 1 and duration 2 adds; last day to drop courses without financial penalty. After this date, manual course change requests are required.

Monday, October 13

Thanksgiving Day. University closed; library closed.

Fall Convocation.

Thursday, December 4

First day of term, Winter Term, Pre-service Education Program.

Last day of lectures Fall, duration 2 courses (see note 1).

(Lectures for this day fall under a Monday schedule as Thursday, December 4 is the the make up day for Thanksgiving Monday.)

Friday, December 5

Snow day/reading day (see note 2).

Monday, December 8 to Saturday, December 20

Progress examinations for duration 1 courses and final examinations for duration 2 courses.

Wednesday, December 24 (noon) to Sunday, January 4

Christmas and New Year holiday. University closed; library closed.

WINTER 2004

Monday, January 5

University reopens. Winter Term resumes, Pre-Service Education Program.

Emergency examination date (December exams).

Tuesday, January 6

First day of Winter Term, undergraduate programs.

Friday, January 16

Last day for duration 3 late registration and course changes without permission of the instructor. BIRT closes for duration 3 adds; last day to drop courses without financial penalty. After this date, manual course change requests are required. Last date for withdrawal without academic penalty and last day to change from credit to audit status for duration 1 courses.

Monday, February 16 to Friday, February 20

Reading Week. No classes will be held in undergraduate programs.

Friday, February 20

President's Holiday. Administrative offices closed; Registrar's Office and library open.

Monday, March 1

Last day for receipt of applications to graduate at Spring Convocation.

Friday, March 5

Last date for withdrawal without academic penalty and last day to change from credit to audit status for duration 3 courses.

Monday, March 15 to Friday, March 19

Spring break. No classes will be held in the Pre-service Education Program.

Good Friday. University closed; library open.

Tuesday, April 13

Last day of lectures for durations 1 and 3 courses.

(Make up day for Good Friday, April 9, the classes will run as if for Friday)

Wednesday, April 14 and Thursday, April 15

Snow/Reading day(s) (see program note 2).

Friday, April 16 to Thursday, April 29

Final examinations for duration 1 and duration 3 coursees.

Notes:

1.The extra day in the Fall Term will be used to replace Thanksgiving Day classes. The schedule will be that of a Monday.

2. A snow day will be used to cover classes missed because of adverse weather (if needed). Otherwise, it will be a reading day. The day of the week missed will determine the replacement schedule for classes.
