Morningstar Mill is a rural industrial heritage site owned by the City of St. Catharines and operated in partnership with the Friends of Morningstar Mill. It features a working grist mill rebuilt in 1872, and the home of the Morningstar family restored to 1932. We will be offering Brock staff a guided tour of the mill, house and grounds. Please note this site is not accessible for wheel chairs. Transportation will be provided.

Brock Try-A-Triathlon Slots:24

Can you swim? Can you ride a bike? Can you run/walk? Why not try doing all three one after the other. Swim 100m or 400m in the Brock pool followed by a 12 km cycle around Brock's picturesque landscape and top it up with a refreshing 3km walk, run or jog to wind down. Trophies will be handed out after the event to the first place finishers for the fastest time of each of the three events. Make sure to pack your bathing suit and running shoes! Design a Rustic Serving Tray Slots:30

Design your very own handmade wooden serving tray. Not only will you experience the joy of creating a beautiful piece, but you will have a practical timeless item to take home that you can enjoy for years to come. You will select and apply the paint colours, stains and finishes of your choice. We will then walk you through applying and stenciling a design of your choice on the surface of the tray and then seal the project to offer years of protection.

Escape Room Tournament Slots:42
Adventure Rooms Canada, Niagara Falls
Canada's 1st Escape Room Game. Teams of seven players that must work together to solve a variety of puzzles in order to "break free"ť from a room containing locked doors before a 60 minute countdown reaches zero. To do so, it requires searching for clues, codes, keys and using objects in strange and interesting ways. Our games are meant to be challenging, with only about 20% of all teams managing to escape. Even unsuccessful teams find the challenge to be rewarding and a great adventure! Can your team escape?

Stroll back through history and enjoy walking the main street in Niagara-on-the-Lake. The Heritage District showcases the town's history and the buildings tell the story of the architecture of years past. It is also the center of the town's shopping area, home to landmark shops. You can spend the time at your own leisure before boarding the bus to return to Brock for lunch.

Goat yoga is animal therapy at its best. Enjoy a soft Hatha Yoga Flow suitable for all fitness levels, while 34 baby Pygmy goats play amongst the mats. It's impossible to be anything but absolutely delighted and living in the present moment while baby goats are leaping off your back and using us as obstacle courses. Despite your best intensions to practice you may just end up cuddling a baby goat for the entire session. Also enjoy four cider tastings from Small Talk Vineyards, the group will be split into two and switch between activities. So come enjoy an hour of baby goats antics and grove in goaty bliss.

The good old hockey game, is the best game you can name! Sharpen your skates and bring your sticks for a morning of ice hockey. You can enjoy our expansive driving range in any weather. There's plenty of room on our spacious grass tee, or you can practice under cover in the rain. We also have a short game practice area for you to fine tune your skills. An instructor will be on hand to provide a beginner lesson and to give you some tips on improving your game. Are you interested in knowing more about tea? First part of the talk will provide an introduction about different tea types, how and why they differ, and how tea can be part of a healthy lifestyle will be provided. During the tasting we will also discuss general concepts about how different types of tea can be paired with specific foods for maximum enjoyment during a meal.

In order to volunteer on Wellness Day, we ask that you arrange a minimum of two hours per half day block with an organization of your choice. If you wish to spend the full day volunteering, we ask that you provide a minimum of four hours of volunteer time. A letter printed on the organization's letterhead is to be provided to wellnessday@brocku.ca in advance of Wellness Day to confirm your volunteer placement for the day. After you have participated in the volunteer opportunity, we ask that you have the letter dated and signed by a representative of the volunteer organization and returned to the Wellness Day email account.

Metta: Finding Your Way Back to Your Heart Slots:20

Metta is a powerful form of meditation which has the ability to move us from our mind to our heart. In a world where many are living on autopilot, there is a growing sense of disconnect. This workshop will teach participants how to reconnect with their hearts and allow loving compassion to flow both within and consequently without, to the world around them. . We will also explore the mindset of gratitude while engaging in an open discussion on the physical, mental and spiritual benefits of living a heart centered life. Stress grows in equal measure to the extent that we feel disconnected, hence learning Metta meditation is a powerful coping mechanism.

If you love sports, make sure you are a participant and not stuck on the sidelines.

Participants will be taught how to shoot a bow and arrow by one of our camp instructors and have a chance to try and hit the target along with some other challenges. Please be prepared to be outside for this activity. If interested participants can bring a photo of something they would like to try and aim at (eg. Bills, pile of laundry, lottery ticket).

SUP isn't just another way to say hello. Standup Paddleboading is a fun, easy and safe way to get out on the water. This session will allow you to get out on the water at either Lakeside Park in Port Dalhousie or the Welland Recreational Canal (depending on weather) to learn the basics of SUP. It will be led by Brock's Dan Dakin, who will provide all the equipment you need to try paddleboarding.

Soccer on the Turf! Slots:20

Show David Beckham how it should be done and come play soccer on the turf! Make sure to bring proper equipment (shin pads and cleats) for a fun day on the fiel. Game will be for fun but top scorers will get bragging rights!

The Archives - Brock's Cabinet of Curiosities Slots:20

The Archives & Special Collections contain some of the unique and valuable items within the Library. These materials have been donated to Brock over the past 54 years and mostly comes from the Niagara area. This session will be a show and tell of the more scandalous, curious and one-of-a-kind items in the collection.

Brock Golf Course makes golf fun! You will find a welcoming environment that encourages new players to the exciting and challenging game, and invites experienced golfers to sharpen their short game. A fun introduction to a cup of True Chinese Tea. From the myth to daily practice, from the plant to company cup, tea is a beverage which can always be perfect for both you and your mindfulness. Edward Qu, who is known as a Chinese tea sommelier and tea reviewing specialist, after studying tea for 11 years and travelling throughout many tea plantations, is going to share different kinds of tea with each of you!

Destressing through Tai Chi Exercise Slots:30

Participants will be welcomed to "Destressing through Tai Chi exercise'ť and be guided through select postures by instructor Kevin Fehr. This two hour class will include- how to prepare yourself for stressful situations through Tai Chi basics, meditation, motivation and relaxation. Comfortable clothing and footwear is recommended.

Registrants will be participating in a ball hockey game at a local ball hockey rink. Players are encouraged to bring their own sticks but some will be available for those that do not have their own. Goalies are always welcome. It is not mandatory but players may want to bring some sort of gloves to protect their hands and are also encouraged to bring a personal water bottle along. Carpooling will be arranged in advance of the day.

Brock's Cool Climate Oenology and Viticulture Institute (CCOVI) opens its doors (and wine cellar) to let you in. You will discover not only how to make heathy choices about beverage alcohol consumption, but also get a unique glimpse of how your senses work - what makes you, YOU. In this interactive session you will learn to identify common aromas and faults that will make you feel like an expert at your next dinner party. You will be led through a structured tasting of six VQA wines and two Ontario craft ciders and learn about CCOVI's continuing education opportunities. The session will end with a tour of CCOVI's wine cellar - a cellared collection of Ontario VQA wines, student wines, and research wines.

In order to volunteer on Wellness Day, we ask that you arrange a minimum of two hours per half day block with an organization of your choice. If you wish to spend the full day volunteering, we ask that you provide a minimum of four hours of volunteer time. A letter printed on the organization's letterhead is to be provided to wellnessday@brocku.ca in advance of Wellness Day to confirm your volunteer placement for the day. After you have participated in the volunteer opportunity, we ask that you have the letter dated and signed by a representative of the volunteer organization and returned to the Wellness Day email account.
