The Bachelor of Arts (Pass) Community Health program focuses on community health and wellness emphasizing health promotion and health assessment as well as program development and evaluation. This foundational degree provides a broad overview of societal trends and systems related to health issues.

College Transfers

Graduates from the following College programs below may apply to Brock University and receive transfer credits towards obtaining a Bachelor of Arts (Pass) Community Health degree.

Dental Hygiene

Students completing a Dental Hygiene diploma at any Ontario publicly-funded college, with a minimum 70 percent average, may earn up to 5.0 credits with Brock University towards a Bachelor of Arts (Pass) Community Health degree. Applications are made via OUAC 105 Application to Community Health (BAH). Applicants should contact the Office of the Registrar-Admissions department at Brock University for more information.

Graduates of this articulation agreement program can gain employment not only as a Dental Hygienist, but also as a health promoter, administrator or researcher in a variety of dental and health-related fields.

Cardiovascular Technology

Students who have completed a Cardiovascular Technology diploma at Mohawk College with a minimum 70 percent average, may apply to Brock University to complete 10.0 prescribed credits (over two years) to earn a Bachelor of Arts (Pass) Community Health degree. Applications are made via OUAC 105 Application to Community Health (BAH) and applicants must contact the Undergraduate Program Co-ordinator at Brock University to receive relevant program information.

Graduates of this articulation agreement program can gain employment not only as a Cardiovascular Technologist, but also as a heath promoter, administrator or researcher in a variety of health-related fields.

Massage Therapy
Students completing a Massage Therapy diploma at any Ontario publicly-funded college, with a minimum 70 percent average, may earn up to 5.0 credits with Brock University towards a Bachelor of Arts (Pass) Community Health degree. Applications are made via OUAC 105 Application to Community Health (BAH). Applicants should contact the Office of the Registrar-Admissions department at Brock University for more information.

Graduates of this articulation agreement program can gain employment not only as a Massage Therapist, but also as a health promoter, administrator or researcher in a variety of massage and health-related fields.

Pharmacy Technician
Students completing a Pharmacy Technician diploma at any Ontario publicly-funded college, with a minimum 70 percent average, may earn up to 5.0 credits with Brock University towards a Bachelor of Arts (Pass) Community Health degree. Applications are made via OUAC 105 Application to Community Health (BAH). Applicants should contact the Office of the Registrar-Admissions department at Brock University for more information.

Graduates of this articulation agreement program can gain employment not only as a Pharmacy Technician, but also as a health promoter, administrator or researcher in a variety of pharmacy and health-related fields.

Program Notes
  1. To proceed to year 2, students must achieve a minimum grade of 60 percent in HLSC 1F90 and one of MATH 1F92, 1P98, 1P99, and have a minimum 60 percent major average and a minimum 60 percent overall average. To continue in the program after second year, students must achieve and maintain a minimum 60 percent major average and a minimum 60 percent overall average.
  2. BIOL 1F25, 1P23, 1P24, 1P27, 1P28, 1P91 or 1P92 are recommended for students in the Community Health program.
  3. At least one credit each year must be taken outside the Department of Health Sciences. Suggested electives include COMM 1P96, 1P97, GEOG 1F90, INTC 1F90, PSYC 1F90, SOCI 1F90, WGST 1F90.
  4. In 15 credit degree programs a maximum of eight credits may be numbered 1(alpha)00 to 1(alpha)99; at least three credits must be numbered 2(alpha)90 or above; and the remaining credits must be numbered 2(alpha)00 or above.
    In some circumstances, in order to meet university degree and program requirements, more than 15 credits may be taken.
