2013-14: Lyric Poetry
A representative selection of archaic lyric poetry, including works attributed to Archilochus, Sappho, Alcaeus, Mimnermus, Alcman, Solon, Pindar, and Bacchylides. Students will become familiar with the dialects, metres, literary motifs and tropes, and performance context of lyric poetry.
