Admissions Criteria - Fall 2007 Entry

General Requirements

Ontario Secondary School students must have a minimum of six Grade 12U or 12M courses and have completed the Ontario (OSSD), or equivalent, to be considered for admission. Prerequisite courses are used in the calculation of admission averages for all programs.

International students on Study Permits are welcome to apply to and be considered for admission to co-op programs at Brock University. However, admission to some programs may be limited or restricted due to limitations imposed by industry requirements, or Canadian Immigration, which make it difficult to secure placements for Visa international students and present challenges for successful completion of required work terms. Visa students are ineligible to apply for Accounting Co-op and Public Administration Co-op.

The above general admission requirements apply to all undergraduate programs. Faculty or program-specific prerequisites follow below. Please note that these are minimum requirements only and are subject to change. Admission is not guaranteed.

Concurrent BA/BEd - Bachelor of Arts - Child and Youth Studies/Bachelor of Education
Students interested in the Child and Youth Studies BA/BEd concurrent program apply to a common year 1 in Child and Youth Studies. Students who achieve a minimum 75% overall academic average with a minimum of 4.0 credits and a maximum of 8.0 credits, are eligible to apply to the BA/BEd program. All BA/BEd applicants must have completed CHYS 1F90, PSYC 1F90, and SOCI 1F90 or equivalents. For teaching at the Primary/Junior level (grades K - 6).

Concurrent BPhEd/BEd Bachelor of Physical Education (Honours)/Bachelor of Education
Students must complete the common first year in the Physical Education program before applying for admission to the BPhEd/BEd (Honours) program. Admission will be based on a minimum 75% overall average on a minimum of 5.0 credits, and a minimum grade of 70% in both PEKN 1P90 and 1P93. For teaching at the Primary/Junior level (grades K - 6).
