All undergraduate and graduate programs in the University will be subject to an academic review, on an eight year cycle, to assess all aspects of academic quality in the program(s). All the programs offered within an academic unit (such as a Department or Centre) will be reviewed concurrently, including both undergraduate and graduate programs.
The IQAP (Section 5) provides the official protocol for cyclical reviews and should be considered as the primary resource for information.
For the purposes of the IQAP, a program is defined as a set of courses, with defined learning outcomes, approved by Senate to constitute all or part of the requirements for a degree designation offered by Brock University.
Cyclical academic reviews are required under the Quality Assurance Framework. The Provost, as the authoritative contact with the Quality Council, ensures that the reviews are conducted in a timely manner and communicates the results, upon completion of each review, to the Council. The Academic Review Committee (ARC) shall oversee academic reviews.
A listing of programs offered by Brock University which are subject to the cyclical review process, as defined in this IQAP, can be found on the Schedule of Cyclical Reviews below.
For further information please contact Brian Power, the Vice-Provost and Associate Vice-President, Academic, at bpower@brocku.ca or x4528.
