Call for nominations: Faculty nominees for Brock Brand Review Steering Committee

Brock University has been well-served over the years by a commitment to refreshing and renewing its brand position as times, demands and needs change. The University’s previous brand initiatives have provided Brock with a distinct position in the market as it competes for students, faculty, research talent, funding and support. As the post-secondary competitive landscape shifts, the COVID-19 pandemic presents an opportunity to help renew and refresh Brock’s brand position.

The brand renewal project will be highly consultative and will provide the members of the Brock community with numerous opportunities to share their insights. The consultation process will seek input and ideas about what Brock means to its community of students, faculty, staff, alumni, prospective students and those across Niagara and around the world.

Steering committee

The project will be led by a Brand Steering Committee, which will be chaired by the Provost and the Associate Vice-President, Advancement and External Relations and include student, staff and faculty representatives. This administrative committee will work with a third-party partner to oversee and direct the consultation processes and to provide guidance as a brand positioning report and recommendations are drafted.

The committee will meet regularly throughout the project, which is expected to conclude in Fall 2021.

Nomination process

The Chairs of the Brand Steering Committee are seeking additional representation from each of Brock’s Faculties, as well as the University Library, including:

  • Faculty of Applied Health Science
  • Faculty of Education
  • Faculty of Humanities
  • Faculty of Mathematics and Science
  • Faculty of Social Sciences
  • Goodman School of Business
  • Brock University Library

Nominations are open to faculty members and professional librarians. Deans, Associate Deans, and others holding administrative appointments are excluded from the nomination process.

To nominate themselves, candidates are asked to email provost@brocku.ca providing their name, Faculty, department, and a short summary of why they believe their teaching, research or service background would contribute to the steering committee’s mission and purpose, including any past experience with university branding and/or marketing.

Nominations will close on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at 9 AM EST. Nominations will be reviewed by the committee Chairs and one faculty member from each Faculty and one professional librarian will be invited to join the committee.
