Protection of Privacy

Brock University protects the privacy of your personal information in its possession. The province sets out rules on how Brock University may collect, use, retain, disclose and dispose of your personal information. The University incorporates these rules to make every reasonable effort to protect personal information and maintain its accuracy and completeness.

How is my personal information obtained?

The University collects personal information as part of its role in providing services and programs. The University will tell you the purpose for collecting the information it collects. It also will provide you with the name of the person in the University who can answer any questions you may have about how your personal information will be used. You give the University personal information when you fill out an application for programs or services.

How is my personal information protected?

Access to and use of personal information is restricted to those who need it in order to fulfill the purpose(s) for which it was intended. Various safeguards are in place to ensure that the information is protected from improper use, disclosure or destruction. The University’s Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Policy includes protection of privacy requirements regarding the collection, use, disclosure, retention and disposal of personal information.
