Speaker: Professor Dolana Mogadime, Director, Teacher Education Programs

Dolana’s research interests include human rights and curriculum studies, critical sociology of education, equity studies and feminist theories. Her publications have covered such topics as women in leadership, gender-based violence, and human rights education.

Leadership is not a one-size-fits-all journey. This panel brings together accomplished female leaders to share their insights, challenges, and successes in navigating leadership roles. Through the lens of their lived experiences, panelists will explore key topics such as overcoming barriers, fostering inclusive workplaces, and developing authentic leadership styles. This session offers valuable perspectives on thriving as a leader and creating opportunities for others.

This session is open to all members of the Brock community interested in gaining a diverse perspective on leadership.

Panelists: 

Monique Beauregard, Manager, Black Student Success Centre at Brock University

Monique Beauregard, Manager of the Black Student Success Centre at Brock University, is an EDI advocate recognized as a Changemaker. She leads student-driven initiatives like the Future Black Leaders program and conference, empowering Black students through resources, connections, and academic support.

Dr. Tapo Chimbganda, Founding Executive Director of Future Black Female

Dr. Tapo Chimbganda is a strategic planning consultant and founder of Future Black Female, a charity dedicated to empowering Black girls and women. With over 15 years of leadership experience, she specializes in guiding organizations through sustainable, inclusive strategies that drive growth, equity, and long-term impact.

Dr. Sandra Della Porta, Associate Professor, Faculty of Education at Brock University

Dr. Sandra Della Porta is a multidisciplinary researcher specializing in early childhood education, with a focus on children’s understanding and use of social power in everyday interactions. Her research also explores the intersection of motherhood and academia during the pandemic, using a storytelling approach to narrative oral history to examine the unique challenges faced by academic mothers.

Dr. Deborah Rosati (BAdmin ’84), Founder and CEO of Women Get on Board Inc.

Dr. Deborah Rosati is an award-winning entrepreneur, corporate director, and governance champion dedicated to advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion in the boardroom. As the founder and CEO of Women Get On Board Inc., she empowers the next generation of women corporate directors through education, mentorship, and advocacy.
