Project Facilitator

Julie Gregory is the Project Facilitator at Brock University’s Social Justice Research Institute (SJRI). In this role, Julie draws on knowledge of, and commitment to, transdisciplinary and social justice research to support affiliated faculty and leadership to develop and source fundable research projects and partnerships, including connecting and liaising between faculty and community partners and supporting research-related promotional activities.

Prior to this role, Julie worked in a variety of capacities within the post-secondary educational sector, all of which dovetail with this work at Brock. For examples, Julie has taught courses on the theoretical and practical aspects of applied social scientific research, worked as an Educational Developer (with a focus on supporting faculty as they develop their Scholarship of Teaching and Learning agendas and related award applications), and worked as a research assistant on a project supported by SSHRC’s College-Community Social Innovation Fund (with a focus on mobilizing knowledge about place-based solutions to food insecurity). Julie holds a BA and PhD in Sociology and an MA in Social Justice and Equity Studies.
