Program Overview:

The PALS program exposes students to a variety of sports and activities that are inclusive for all students. Suitable for grades KG through 8, we recognizes the importance of increasing the awareness of the need for daily physical activity in the lives of our young people and offer activities that are exclusive to Brock and allows students access to our facilities.

The different sports/activities that can be included are: archery, fencing, rowing, swimming (grades 5+), tchoukball, ultimate frisbee, cricket, flag rugby, handball, lacrosse, omnikin ball, pickleball, badminton, tennis and more. Please note, swimming is an option as an activity for Grade 5-8 classes attending if requested. All lifeguards hold National Lifeguard  and Instructor Certificates.

Reservations are available weekdays from Monday, May 8 until Wednesday June 28, 2023. A PALS day runs 9:00am to 3:00pm (Times are flexible to accommodate your transportation needs). Each class attending PALS Day requires a teacher/supervisor to accompany all activities.

Cancellations: A full refund for PALS bookings will be issued for cancellations received no later than Friday March 24th, 2023.

For more information email mlocker@brocku.ca.

Class size

In order for your group to have the best experience, groups of 20 to 35 students are preferred. If your class is larger than 35 students, please book two spots and divide your class in half.

We ensure that all of our equipment, facilities and programming are safe for all participants. Instructors perform safety checks before, after and during the day. All instructors are Brock University students who have police checks and are certified in First Aid and CPR. All lifeguards are NL certified and have police checks. If you have a question about any safety questions, please call Megan Locker at 905 688 5550 x4699 or email mlocker@brocku.ca.

Check out some of our newest activities

A variety of co-operative activities played with an Omnikin Ball which is an inflatable ball that is approximately 48 inches in diameter. A very different activity that has the students working together in a variety of fun challenges.

A unique game similar to Handball but with no defence. Teams attempt to bounce a ball off a trampoline-like net to get the ball to hit the ground. Students learn about moving into open space and working on sending and receiving skills.

A racquet sport played with wooden or plastic paddles and whiffle balls on a badminton court with lowered nets and rules similar to table tennis. Great for all ages of students and an excellent way to develop their racquet sport skills.

We recognize that some classes have previously attended PALS. We will work with the teacher to provide activities which are different from other years the children have attended.
