NIRSA Ontario Student Lead On

Brock University is happy to host the 2019 NIRSA Student Lead On to be held Wednesday October 16 to Friday October 18, 2019. We welcome students and staff from Colleges and Universities across Ontario and beyond. This year’s conference theme is Leading the Way Through Campus Recreation. Through discussions as well as conference sessions we hope to inspire attendees to look at recreation as a tool to lead change in their institutions, communities and everyday lives.

THE POWER AND POTENTIAL OF CAMPUS RECREATION

Campus recreation isn’t just a nice-to-have, it’s a need-to-have. However, it will only be viewed as essential if we continue to maximize its power and potential to deliver significant individual and community benefits. Maximizing this impact will require a need to adapt because the game and the rules are changing. Tapping this potential may also require growing our own leadership if we are to effectively use recreation to lead change in our everyday lives, our institutions, and our communities. Learn more about embracing future-focused recreation that reflects trends, new opportunities, and a different kind of leadership; articulate what needs to be changed; and demystify the how-to’s for transformative change.
