The Master of Education Internationally-educated Student Pathway (MEd ISP) is designed for international students and begins with an intensive term reviewing Canadian educational foundations to assist with the transition into graduate school. With a focus on administration and leadership in education, and another on teaching, learning and development, the curriculum is designed to provide international students with an opportunity to enhance their academic background. They will also gain a greater understanding of Canadian issues and challenges in achievement of academic inquiry skills in educational research. The eleven half-credit courses of the MEd ISP are organized into an intensive 4 term program. This program does not lead to the Ontario Certified Teachers designation, which is required to teach in public schools in Ontario.

Admission requirements

  1. Check the university requirements and the program requirements.
  2. Complete the online application and submit the non-refundable application fee.
  3. You will need to submit your transcripts as well as the following program-specific materials:
    • Two references are required.
    • A 500–800 word Statement of Intent indicating study interests and reasons for applying to the program
    • English Language Proficiency test score
    • A resume detailing professional and educational experience
    • Teaching certification (if applicable)
    • Please note that a writing sample and an interview MAY be requested, and will be arranged with the Master of Education Program, after all other documents have been received and processed. For more information please visit the program website.
    • For students who must provide proof of English Language Proficiency, the minimum IELTS score of 7.0 (with no section under 6.5) or equivalent score on other tests of ELP accepted by Brock University.

Applicants with an IELTS of 6.0 can apply for the MPCE Exploratory Track via the MPCE Application. MPCE Exploratory Track applications will be accepted until August 1.
