Accountancy (MAcc)

This program is designed for graduates of Goodman’s BAcc program. This program will start you on the path to the Common Final Exam (CFE) and your CPA designation.

The Master of Accountancy (MAcc) program encourages the development of critical thinking, analysis and communication skills. The program prepares you to become a strategic and well-rounded professional in accounting and provides you with advanced coursework covering the CPA elective modules of Assurance, Tax, Finance and Performance Management. In addition, our program covers the content for Capstone 1 and 2 which provides you with the necessary integration and case analysis skills to prepare you for successful completion of the Common Final Exam (CFE).

  • Course-based – 10 courses / 8 months full-time
  • Course-based, with Co-Op term – 12 months full-time

Application deadline:

The application review begins February 1 of each year and applications will be reviewed until the program is full. We encourage you to apply early, due to the competitive nature of the program.

We are happy to review your Brock transcript or and IELTS/TOFEL score (if applicable), before you apply to our MAcc program.

A pre-admission assessment is the best way of assessing your eligibility/competitiveness for the MAcc program.

Admission requirements

  • Four year Goodman Bachelor's degree in accounting (BAcc), with a minimum average of 75% from the last two years of full-time undergraduate study.
  • Minimum 75% Academic average in key accounting prerequisite courses (ACTG courses, FNCE 2P91 & 3P93)
  • Minimum 60% in prerequisite courses: Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Statistics, Canadian Business Law, Business Ethics, Business Strategy, Corporate Finance I & II, Intro. Financial Accounting, Intro. Management Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, Accounting for External Reporting I, II, III & IV, Cost and Managerial Accounting I & II, Taxation I, II & III, Auditing Concepts, External Auditing I & II, Accounting Theory, Integration Problem Solving
  • Applicants required to provide proof of English proficiency must achieve a minimum IELTS score of 7.5 (minimum of 6.5 in each section is recommended), or equivalent. Approved tests and recognized language programs are outlined on the Graduate English Language Proficiency webpage.
