The Graduate Diploma in Business Administration is designed to develop and integrate the broad-based, functional knowledge needed for career development. As a result, this program will be of particular interest to graduates from non-business disciplines and working professionals seeking the required business skills to aid them in the commercialization of an innovation, the expansion of an entrepreneurial endeavour or the pursuit of a managerial position. Successful students have the opportunity to transfer into the MBA program.

  • January (Winter)
  • May (Spring) – part-time only

Duration:

  • 8 months (2 terms) for full-time course-based students (10 courses total)

    • Applications will be accepted until the program is full.
    • Applicants should apply as early as possible.

A pre-admission assessment is the best way of assessing your eligibility for our Graduate programs. Together, we will identify your career and education goals and provide you with advice and strategies on how to submit a strong application.

Admission requirements

  • A four-year bachelor’s degree (or Canadian equivalent) in any field from an accredited institution, with a minimum average of 75% in the last two years of study.
  • Minimum Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) score in the 52nd percentile in verbal and quantitative reasoning, or Graduate Record Examination (GRE) score in the 60th percentile in verbal and quantitative reasoning.

  • Applicants that are required to provide proof of English language proficiency must achieve a minimum IELTS score of 7.5 or an approved equivalent, as outlined on the Graduate English Language Proficiency webpage.
  • Applicants that do not meet one of the above noted criteria may be considered on an exceptional basis if they possess a minimum of seven years of significant full-time managerial work experience (as determined by the admissions committee). Candidates who are admitted based on work experience will be placed on probation and will be required to achieve a minimum grade of 70% in each of their first 5 courses in order to proceed in the program.

In addition to the online application and payment of the non-refundable application fee, applicants are required to submit:

  • Transcripts from all previous post-secondary study.
  • Three (3) electronic reference reports
  • Statement of interest
  • Resumé
  • Scan of official TOEFL, IELTS or PTE score (if applicable)
  • Scan of GMAT/GRE score report or GMAT/GRE waiver request form
