Free parking model for Zones 1 and 2

New for 2018: it will soon be easier for members of the Brock University community and visitors to access campus, thanks to a new parking model coming this spring. See below for full details.

Zone 1 and Zone 2 lots ONLY

May 1 to August 31 (Spring/Summer Parking)

Zone 1 and Zone 2: free parking weekdays and weekends*

September 1 to April 30

Zone 1 and Zone 2: free parking weekdays after 6pm and on weekends*
Parking Permits for Zone 1 and Zone 2 will still be required Monday-Friday 5am-6pm

*no overnight parking 2am-5am

No. Zone 1 and Zone 2 parking lots will not require parking permits from May 1 to August 31.

No, all parking lots are closed 2am-5am. This remains in effect all year round. If you require special consideration please contact Parking Services by email or phone at parking@brocku.ca or 905-688-5550 x4309.

Faculty and staff

Yes, beginning May 1 all Zone 1 Annual pass holders who have paid for their permit in advance will receive a refund for May 1-August 31. If you are on payroll deduction, the deduction will stop as of May 1, 2018. If you have a Zone 2 Fall/Winter permit, you may begin parking in Zone 1 on May 1, 2018.

No. Permits are not required in Zone 1 and Zone 2 from May 1 to August 31. Of note, all other lots still require permits to be displayed.

Yes, as we transition to the new parking model and in efforts to mitigate a mass cancellation of permits across the entire campus, ALL annual 2017-18 permits will be refunded for the May 1-August 31 time period.

Please keep your permit and continue to display it on your car as all lots other than Zone 1 and Zone 2 will still be monitored and only individuals with permits will be allowed to park there.

Example: If you currently park in Reserved lot B you will receive a refund for the  2017-18 May 1-August 31 rates of Reserved lot B. You will still have the rights to park in Reserved lot B through the May 1- August 31 time period and will be required to display your permit at all times.

Yes. All other lots will be monitored.

No immediate action is required. If you have pre-paid you will receive a cheque that will be mailed to your home address. An email will be sent to all permit holders asking to verify mailing addresses. If you are on payroll deductions, your payments will stop as of May 1, 2018.

Yes. To purchase your permit for lots other than Zone 1 and Zone 2 during the May 1 -August 31 time period please contact parking services at x4309 or parking@brocku.ca

Yes, please fill out our new Event Parking Form and a Parking Services representative will be in contact to finalize details.

Programs that include free parking will include that information upon registration. For programs that do not include parking, Zone 1 and Zone 2 offer free parking weekdays after 6pm and on weekends during September 1 to April 30*.

Once you enter Brock University signage will direct you to the free lots. Of note they are located on the west side of Glenridge Avenue and Merrittville Highway by the Cairns Family Health and Bioscience Research building.

Your options are as follows:

  • Paid Visitor Lot D (red kiosk with a Badger)
  • Paid meter parking: Lot P, along University Rd West and behind the Walker Sports Complex near Lot Q.
