Each year, the Walker Cultural Leader series brings leading artists, performers, practitioners and academics to the Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts at Brock University. Engaging, lively and erudite, these sessions celebrate professional achievement, artistic endeavour and the indelible role of culture in our society. This education program is generously supported by Marilyn I. Walker.

St. Catharines-based artist Geoff Farnsworth is a Walker Cultural Leader invited by the Centre for Studies in Arts and Culture (STAC) in 2023-2024.

His exhibition Blurs and Vagueness is one of his contributions to this cultural program. The title refers to Farnsworth’s colourful explorations between figuration and abstraction. It is also this year’s theme at the Small Walker Press.

Presented in association with the 13th Street Gallery’s exhibition of larger paintings by Geoff Farnsworth in September-October 2023 in St. Catharines, Blurs and Vagueness showed a selection of small-sized paintings and drawings and was an opportunity to become acquainted with Farnsworth’s rarely shown drawings. between the figurative and abstraction.

Geoff Farnsworth’s work has been shown in New York City, Washington DC, Minneapolis, Toronto, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Thunder Bay, Niagara Falls, Norway, Sweden, and Trinidad.
