Welcome to the Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts! As a student of the school, you are now part of a vibrant and active artistic community with access to events and experiences both inside and outside of the classroom.
About the Passport
The MIWSFPA Experience Passport is designed to help you make the most of your time as a student as you participate in activities taking place around campus and in the local St. Catharines area.
As a first-year student, you will have received a passport at the Academic Orientation Luncheon that took place in the MIWSFPA lobby on September 4. Otherwise, copies of this passport are available in the Learning Commons, located in room 229 of the School.
Listed in the passport is information about our Department of Visual Arts, Department of Dramatic Arts, Department of Music and Centre for Studies in Arts and Culture, as well as our Learning Commons, nearby partner, the Rodman Hall Art Centre, our social media and a few of our significant art pieces.
Outlined in the passport are 10 different tasks that will familiarize you with the school and allow you to experience all of the unique events hosted by each of the School’s departments.
How It Works
Whenever you participate in an event, you will receive a sticker in your passport.
If you complete all 10 tasks, you will be entered into a draw to win prizes including: campus store gift cards, credit for purchases at the VISA Kiosk, tickets to local upcoming events with our nearby community partners and more!
Completed passports must be completed by April 4 and submitted to Max Holten-Andersen in the Learning Commons in order to be eligible.
*Don’t forget to also register with Experience BU for many events in this passport by visiting https://experiencebu.brocku.ca/events. When you attend an official Experience BU event, please bring your student card with you and check-in with a member of the MIWSFPSA team upon your arrival.
Qualifying Events
Below is the complete listing of all of the programs, events, and services that qualify for each of the 10 tasks required to complete this passport.
*All events are also listed in the MIWSFPA Season’s Brochure, available online and in the school’s main lobby.
