We offer external clients access to X-ray powder diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and atomic force microscopy services.

X-RAY Powder Diffraction
The Rigaku SmartLab is an advanced high-resolution X-ray diffractometer (XRD) equipped with a two-dimensional semiconductor HyPix-3000 detector.
Training is available for Brock users at a rate of $100. The training rate includes the specialist’s time and the use of equipment for XRD measurements; however, the analysis software is not included.

Scanning Electron Microscopy / Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectroscopy
Hitachi SU5000 FE scanning electron microscope with Deben STEM and Oxford XRF detectors.
Training is available for Brock users at a rate of $200. The training rate includes the specialist’s time and the use of equipment for SEM imaging and EDS area analysis.
