Podcast Your Research

Do you love podcasts? Have you ever dreamed of creating a podcast to showcase your research? Are you interested in learning about novel ways to disseminate your research findings? Look no further! The Brock LINC, Makerspace, and Faculty of Humanities have a workshop series for you.

Podcast listening has grown over the pandemic and is expected to continue that growth in the coming years, particularly among younger listeners (Forbes). Nearly three quarters of podcast listeners tune in to learn new things (Statista), making it a great medium for sharing academic research. While podcasting isn’t difficult, it does take some planning to do it successfully. Producing a podcast is a time-intensive undertaking, with every hour of finished audio representing hours of work behind the scenes. And with more than two million podcasts available globally, finding your niche takes some planning. Planning your podcast in advance can help you save time and communicate more effectively to your target audience.

This three-day workshop is designed to introduce you to best practices for podcasting your research – from planning to development to execution. The workshops are free for Brock graduate students and researchers, and participants are welcome to enrol in one, some or all of the workshops. Registration is required to attend.
