Lifespan Speaker Series – Movement and Mental Health – What’s happening with youth today

Adolescence is a stressful time full of unique challenges and opportunities for youth and those that live/work with them. We know that movement behaviours (such as physical activity, sleep, and screen time) relate to mental health – but how are they connected?

This free webinar explored how specific movement behaviours, like keeping active or sleeping regularly, relate to mental health among adolescents, focusing on:

  • What has happened over the pandemic regarding youth movement behaviours and mental health
  • The connections between movement behaviours and mental health
  • High level recommendations for those that live/work with youth – and youth themselves!

Please note that this webinar does not recommend any specific resource and/or treatment options, nor is it intended to provide individual advice. Individuals should consult with their healthcare team/treatment provider for all healthcare recommendations and decisions.

We would like to acknowledge the support from Brock University’s Office of Research Services and Faculty of Applied Health Sciences which helped to make this event possible.
