International exposure hours

The International Plus Program awards credit to academic and cultural experiences with an international component. The students are asked to seek and participate in their international exposure requirements without the involvement of International Services.

Students must complete a total of 30 exposure hours to complete the program. The exposure hours can be a combination of any of the following:

Participation at a domestic competitionDemonstrating active participation. Debating involving an international issue, international business simulations, involving at least 10 hours of preparation time20
Serving on the executive of a club or society on campusOne semester or more. Demonstrating at least 5 hours a month of contribution to the club’s activities. The club or society must have an international edge20
Participation at a symposium or conferenceAt least one day. The event must be internationally themed. Demonstrating active participation, through participating in workshops, undertaking community work, delivering a paper, presenting, contributing to a declaration, etc. (e.g. Crossing Borders)8/day

Attending two on-campus seminarsTwo seminars of less than one day each. Run by a university department, society or student club. The seminar has to have a International themed (Example: Celebration of Nations)8
Conversation partnerThis volunteer opportunity involves just a couple of hours a week. You will be paired up with a student who is part of the Intensive English Language Program (IELP) at Brock and you will help them practice their English simply by talking to them and spending time with them.
